Flexible & Common Use of Acrylic


Acrylic is manufactured by plastic that uses single or multiple derivatives of acrylic acid. Poly(methyl methacrylate) (PMMA), is a commonly used forms because of its extraordinary versatility, strength, weatherability and perspicuity. It is also commonly called as acrylic or acrylic glass, Perspex, Acrylite, Plexiglas and Lucite.


It is also a transparent thermoplastic regularly being used in tube, rod, box and sheet form due to its features such as brilliance, lightweight, shatter-resistant, affordable as an alternative to glass. At half the weight with up to 10 times the impact resistance as compared to glass. Many others also use this material for inks, casting resin and coatings.


Similar to a lot of thermoplastic, this substance can be considered as glass (due to its non-crystalline vitreous substance), although the fact shows that it is not one of silica-based glass.
