Vietnam’s market is huge enough to actually make a lot of demand for foreign direct investment, from product manufacturing to service sectors. Vietnam is using Dong (VND, ₫), it is a country that is covered by trade organizations such as ASEAN, AFTA and SCO. Dong is Vietnam’s currency that has been in place since the year of 1978, somewhere around the month of May. It was a replacement for the French Indochinese piastre. Vietnam’s economy is a mixture of a socialist-oriented market economy, which is the thirty-seventh largest globally as per GDP (Gross Domestic Product), and twenty-third in terms of size for purchasing power parity (PPP) during the year 2020. Vietnam is a member of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation, the Southeast Asian Nations Association, the World Trade Organization (WTO) and many more world-level. Vietnam was making a big shift to a mixed economy from a centralized command economy during the mid-1980s. The economy uses both indicative planning and directive one through the plans for 5 years, with much support from an open market economy.
